Offshore blade maintenance brings transport, lifting, access and weather into the same operation. SQYFlex Blue has been developed around that reality. The platform adapts to the blade geometry and provides a guarded 360° working plane for technicians, tools and repair materials. The tower guide system transfers horizontal forces to the tower and supports stable positioning as the platform moves between the transition piece and the blade.Optional weather protection, lighting and crew-change equipment can extend the practical working window and support longer repair activities.
SQYPort gives SQYFlex Blue a defined, permanent point for landing, securing, preparing and recovering the platform at the transition piece — without transferring platform loads onto the TP deck. The interface attaches directly to the tower, so it works across different transition-piece designs and site layouts rather than depending on a bespoke landing surface.
Lifting can be arranged to fit the project: a davit crane, nacelle crane, vessel crane or a suspended chain hoist can all be used to move the platform to and from SQYPort, and the parking interface itself is compatible with multiple types of access equipment.
A proven tagline system keeps the platform under control as it's repositioned around the tower, helping crews maintain safe handling even in changing offshore weather conditions.
Suspended access equipment conforming to EN 1808
Up to 3.0 m root diameter and 5.0 m blade chord.
14 m/s wind speed tolerance for consistent performance.
Standard: 0–40 °C.
+ Arctic Package: −15 °C.
360° around each blade with a reach of ~16.2 m from the tower towards the blade tip.
Designed for turbine towers up to 175 m
No platform assembly on site. Approximately 10 minutes plus wire-rope installation
550 kg or 3 technicians
plus equipment.
The platform changes shape to match different parts of the blade and gives technicians a guarded working plane around the repair area. The tower guide system controls horizontal positioning and supports the platform against the tower during vertical movement.
Offshore efficiency starts before the platform reaches the turbine. SQYFlex Blue is prepared for transport on a suitable sea frame and designed for planned lifting to SQYPort at the transition piece. The platform arrives without the need for structural assembly at the turbine, helping crews reduce handling and make better use of vessel and weather time.
Whether at the harbour or at the turbine, the platform is designed to be lifted with whatever equipment the project already has — a vessel crane, a davit or nacelle crane, or a suspended chain hoist. At the turbine, this same flexibility lets the platform connect to SQYPort, the parking interface that holds it against the tower instead of resting on the transition-piece deck — so the same lifting approach works across different turbines without adding extra load there.
A rated load of 550 kg provides capacity for up to three technicians together with tools and materials, subject to the defined load-distribution rules. This supports repair work that requires more equipment, longer working periods or coordinated tasks.
SQYFlex Blue uses materials and component treatments selected for improved corrosion resistance. Stainless steel replaces many regular or galvanised steel parts, while the hoists and safety devices use a C5-class equivalent coating.
The tagline system supports controlled positioning during deployment and return to SQYPort. During operation, crews monitor the platform behaviour and work within the defined wind, temperature, load and wire-angle limits.

SQYFlex Blue has been handled through the practical stages that shape an offshore blade-access operation: harbour preparation, lifting, vessel loading, offshore transport and work around the turbine.
These activities provide direct operational input on lift planning, deck handling, sea fastening, transition-piece interfaces and platform logistics. The experience is used when PP Techniq prepares the equipment and operating plan for each project.
SQYFlex Blue operators complete PP Techniq-approved platform training and must be competent in working at height. The Blue course builds on the SQYFlex operating principles and adds the offshore-specific equipment, preparation and procedures required for the platform configuration.PP Techniq can also support project planning for transport, lifting, turbine interfaces, wire installation and recovery procedures.
